What is this tool?

The WHOIS and IPWHOIS toolsfind contact information for the owner of specified domain/hostname. Contact email addresses will not be obfuscated, as they are on the public page. IPWHOIS is similar to WHOIS - finds contact information for the owner of the domain associated with the specific IP address.

The advanced version activated if you have the Professional Tool Set also includes a WHOIS/IPWHOIS for server level. The Server field can be used for specialized lookups, such as checking to see if an old registrar still has WHOIS data for a domain, or by checking some non-domain/IP-related-stuff that uses the WHOIS protocol.
