DNSstuff Rapport: Take Control of Your Online Identity

Protect your transactions from being tampered with or private information from being stolen
Malware is growing at an alarming rate. Today, malware programs are capable of bypassing the most advanced authentication and security controls implemented by most websites. If this occurs, your most vulnerable assets are at risk including your login credentials.

DNSstuff has partnered with Trusteer to solve this problem – it’s called Rapport. Rapport protects login credentials and transactions, from desktop to website, even if a computer is infected with malware.

How it works

Rapport builds a “secure pipe” inside the desktop which hides credentials and communication from malware and fraudulent Websites. Malware, or any other form of attack, cannot penetrate the secure pipe and cannot interfere with online banking activities.

Attacks prevented

Rapport protects against:

  • Man-in-the-browser
  • Man-in-the-middle
  • Keyloggers
  • Session Hijacking
  • Screen Capturing
  • Pharming
  • Phishing and Phishing Malware

Easy to install

The lightweight browser security plug-in is installed in-flow when the customer first visits the Web site. This one-time process takes a few seconds and is very similar to a Flash viewer (also a browser plug-in) installation.

FAQ's

Does DNSstuff Rapport load something on my computer?
Rapport is a small footprint application – only about a 400K download. Once installed, the Rapport application is virtually transparent and non-invasive. It does not interact with the user and no training is required.

How do I protect the websites I want to protect?
After you download Rapport, a gray icon will appear in your browser. Just click it to start the process of protecting your login credentials for all the sites you frequently use.

How does Rapport create this secure ‘pipe’ for communication?
Rapport uses three layers to create the secure pipe inside the user’s desktop computer:

  1. The API Blocking Layer controls hundreds of operating system API calls and prevents malware from using these calls to access or tamper with the communication.
  2. The Data Encryption Layer encrypts sensitive information from the keyboard all the way to the network, and hides it from malware.
  3. The Delivery Confirmation Layer strongly verifies the legitimate Website that the user currently interacts with, and prevents the submission of sensitive information to fraudulent Websites.
